Responsibilities

<p>- Prepare and cook a diverse range of authentic Indian Punjabi dishes, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavour.
- Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to maintain consistent food quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop seasonal menus that celebrate traditional Indian cuisine while incorporating local ingredients.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and maintaining stock levels of fresh produce and spices.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards to create a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering their culinary skills and knowledge of Indian cooking techniques.
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Engage with diners to receive feedback and adapt dishes to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist in the budgeting and cost control of food production to optimise profitability.
- Participate in staff meetings to contribute ideas for enhancing restaurant operations and customer experience.

Qualifications

<p>- Proven experience as a Chef in an Indian restaurant, specialising in Punjabi cuisine.
- Relevant culinary qualifications, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations in Australia.
- Ability to create authentic, high-quality Indian dishes with a focus on presentation.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Experience with menu planning and cost control to enhance profitability.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to cater to diverse clientele.
- Valid work rights in Australia, with a preference for candidates eligible for skilled migration.</p>
