Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Nepali dishes, specialising in momos, to the highest standards of taste and presentation.
- Develop and refine menus in consultation with management, ensuring a balance of traditional and innovative offerings.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish served.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in line with Australian regulations and restaurant policies.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise wastage.
- Adapt recipes and cooking techniques to cater for special dietary requirements and customer preferences.
- Collaborate closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
- Stay updated on culinary trends and continuously seek ways to enhance the customer dining experience.
- Maintain detailed records of food costs, wastage, and kitchen operations as required.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is well maintained and report any issues promptly.
- Assist in planning and executing special events or menu promotions.
- Respond professionally to customer feedback, aiming to exceed expectations at every opportunity.

Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in Nepalese or South Asian cuisine
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management (knowledge of Australian standards essential)
- Ability to create, prepare, and present authentic Nepali dishes, especially momos, to high standards
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
- Full working rights in Australia (visa holders must have unrestricted work conditions)
