Responsibilities

- Design and develop innovative mechanical systems for a variety of blind products.
- Conduct thorough analysis and testing of prototypes to ensure functionality and durability.
- Collaborate with the production team to optimise manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications and design reports.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing mechanical systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all engineering activities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other departments and team members.
- Participate in project planning and management to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices.
- Engage in research and development to enhance product features and performance.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored engineering solutions.
- Assist in the training and development of junior engineering staff.
- Contribute to cross-functional team meetings and collaborate on innovative design solutions.</p>

Qualifications

<p>- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, accredited by Engineers Australia.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and manufacturing processes, preferably within the blinds or window furnishings industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) for design and modelling.
- Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques relevant to blinds production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, contributing to project goals.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Australian safety and regulatory standards in engineering.
- Valid Australian work rights; experience with visa applications is a plus. </p>
