Responsibilities

- Oversee daily supply chain operations, ensuring timely sourcing and distribution of fresh produce and grocery items.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, growers, and logistics partners.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate stock movement to minimise wastage and maximise freshness.
- Lead, train, and support warehouse and distribution staff to meet performance and safety standards.
- Liaise with the Melbourne Wholesale Market to secure high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Plan delivery schedules to efficiently service retail, hospitality, and home-delivery customers.
- Monitor and analyse supply trends, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure all warehouse and distribution activities comply with food safety and workplace health regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise logistics, storage, and transport processes.
- Resolve supply or delivery issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Oversee accurate record-keeping of stock, orders, and supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and coordinate promotional activities.
- Manage procurement contracts and negotiate terms with suppliers.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across supply and distribution functions.
- Report regularly to senior management on key operational metrics and business performance.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in supply chain, logistics or distribution management, ideally within fresh produce or FMCG environments.
- Sound understanding of inventory control, stock rotation and warehouse operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with suppliers and transport partners.
- Knowledge of Australian food safety and compliance standards.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Proficient in using warehouse management and logistics software.
- Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
- Full Australian working rights; tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field highly regarded.
