Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair various vehicle issues, ensuring optimal performance and safety. - Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations. - Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems and recommend solutions. - Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately assess vehicle conditions. - Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used for each vehicle. - Communicate directly with customers to explain findings and provide honest recommendations. - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service. - Stay updated on industry advancements and manufacturer specifications to enhance skills. - Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment. - Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for repairs. - Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as required. - Provide exceptional customer service, fostering long-term relationships with clients. - Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs. - Support the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.
Qualifications
- Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology). - Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing a range of vehicles. - Strong understanding of automotive systems and components. - Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. - Capacity to work independently and as part of a team. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to safety standards.
